Poor Quality charger

I've noticed after several months of owning this phone that the Samsung 500ma charger is getting weak. When plugging it in sometimes the phone won't recognize it for more than 30 seconds before I hear the "bloop" sound. Also if the display is on it won't charge the phone until it sleeps. I have 3 other chargers, an iphone 1000ma, a LG 750ma, and a cheapo 1000ma. All these other chargers are recognized immediately and charge the phone quicker than the factory included one. Also noticed is that sometimes the red led on the front of the phone will fade out and fade back in but is not consistent.

The USB cable that comes with the stock charger is not the problem as I have tried wiggling the connections to see any changes which none are notable. If you have also noticed long delays before the phone recognizes the charger please chime in. I'd like to get more feedback on this.

The led is only lit when scree is off and it does pulse.

Sounds like your charger is on the way out. Mine responds immediately. I was thinking mine is a 1amp charge though. Will have to check when I get home.

I have a 1A charger I got with my phonel ast Feb-March (I forget which, may have been APril) and its still going good. I have it plugged into a Belkin 12-outlet surge protector all day long, though. That may have something to do with it, may not. I don't plug it in or unplug it a lot from the outlet.

FWIW, my daughter switched to AT&T a few years or so ago and has a S2 I believe and she has replaced her power adapter twice now. I think they (Samsung) may have an issue with some of their AC adapters. We swap cords and adapters and her adapter was bad both times. She got free replacements both times so they might know about the problem, if there is one.

I have only owned my phone for a few months and it works flawlessly so far.
