pop Gmail

I noticed that when viewing emails on htc phone (using mail app), that it deleted mail from gmail, and then when I went home and turned on pc with outlook they don't exist....as deleted.
I then changed setting so that mails are left on gmails server after pop3 access, so now they remain there forever....but not what i want!!

How do I change settings, so that it doesn't delete when viewed on phone, but downloads all to outlook, and at the same deletes from server at that time?

I don't want to archive using gmail, nor do i want to manually delete in gmail.

Don't sync it. I had to stop syncing as I use a desktop, laptop, tablet and phone. 3 different OS. About downloading to Outlook, I don't know.

Also set up at the main Mail online. I use Tbird on the computers and can either delete all messages from Gmail servers or leave for a certain amount of time, or forever.
