Help Pop3emails

Hi. Tried to setup my pop3 virgin emails and they won't work? Is there a way to set this up?

Are you sure that you have all the correct settings? Have you used pop3 with your email account before?

should be the same settings as laptop. Enter account and password then select manual setup. For the mail servers pop3 and smtp you do not need to in include "mail." make sure yours ports are also correct.

email account settings>incoming server settings> Delete email from server>never

That should sort it so that when you download via laptop it will pop of all mail whether you have read them on phone or not.

Off. My sgs? even what i go to check for emails if any comes in it deletes befote i read them?

I am at a loss why it would do this. Just one more point and it may sound ridiculous but when you open the email app have you got the "Indox" tab high lighted

hi, ni the emails are darkened out and still deletes then i got an important email tonight i was able to read it then it deleted it when i went to my laptop to see if it was there and nothing? i wonder if its a bug in the email apps on sgs, my emails work on my iphone with no problums?

Not sure what's wrong with your virgin mail, but could you not set virgin mail up so it forwards you mail to another email address like gmail or set up a yahoo mail account. Yahoo pop works fine with the mail program.

Just a thought. Is your iphone deleting the email off the server, if so thats your problem.

Hi all,

I have the exact same problem since I updated my HTC Desire to 2.2. Prior to that I was receiving my virgin.net emails fine and had a good number stored on my phone. Since the upgrade, all of the earlier mails have been deleted and any new ones delete as soon as the mail programme is exited to return to the home screen. The mails do not even end up in the trash folder. I have checked the settings and delete from Server is set to Never.

If anyone has any ideas, I'd be grateful. I had thought of putting a divert from my virgin account on to a google account but I don't want to go this route if I can help it as I want to continue to send mails from my virgin account not google.
