Popup SMS question

So I DLed popup SMS...I liked it alot. However, whenever I recieved a txt from someone in my contact book, only their number would display not their contact name.

Any suggestions? Or do I just need to wait for the dev to reamp it for the Droid?
 
Hmm.. that's strange. I'm using that app on my G1 and it says the persons name and shows their picture which I put in there.

Just curiously... are you using Google Voice? I've had a few strange issues with SMS's and Google Voice.
 
Hi guys,

I have a test version of SMS Popup that should hopefully be compatible with Android 2.0 here:

Please try it out and let me know if it helps the issues you are seeing (I don't have a Droid to test with so it's hard to know if my updates are working correctly).

FYI, any pre-2.0 apps that retrieve contacts from the system will only see contacts from your primary phone account (normally Gmail) which is why you're seeing it show the contact name/photo for some contacts but not all.

i had the same issue, turn your device completely off (hold power button and press power off) then back on...worked for me
 
I was having the same problem where Contact Name & Image were not showing up on my Motorola Droid. I installed the latest RC that you posted and rebooted the phone. Atleast the name is working correctly. I am unsure about pictures as none of my friends with profile pictures are messaging me this morning :( The Droid icon was there for a friend that didn't have a pic. Thanks, I was annoyed with the default messaging notifications that were built in. Popup SMS is working great for me, thank you!

**UPDATE: Contact name is working. But no Display Pic, only a circle with an 'i'
 
Yes handcent SMS is waaaay better, i've been using with my droid and i ued it with my G1. Very customizable and a new update yas it 2.0 ready

This verison seems to not work with MMS properly. I never get notified of a new MMS.
 
I really like Popup SMS, but it pulls my droid out of sleep/lock mode whenever I get an SMS... changing the settings didn't fix this. Am I missing something?

Might add an option for it not to do this in the future ... if you just want to use the notifications portion of the sms popup you can just disable the popup (under Default Notifications not on the main screen) - this will prevent the screen from turning on but it will also not show the popup window (just the regular notification panel).

Good to hear ... the slowness might be fixed in 1.0.4, Droid seems to have issues blurring the background behind the popup window so I disabled it for Android 2 phones for now.
