hi I have an android that I use as a tethered hotspot. One of my devices I'm using requires me to open ports like on a router. Is there any apps that I can use to open ports to make it work like a router.?
Usually all ports should be open when using a phone as a hotspot. Sure you're not referring to port forwarding, and what are you actually trying to tether, an Xbox One console or something?
Port forwarding is where a router is setup to forward incoming packets on a certain port to a specified device, which is what things like Xbox require, and usually it's done automatically by UPnP(Universal Plug'n'Play)". However AFAIK a simple phone hotspot doesn't support things like that, as it's not a full-blown router. What exactly didn't open when you tried the app @Pugs1957 suggested
Your carrier could be blocking certain ports though, that's been known, who's your carrier?
