Root (Port) Behold 2 1.6 ( No Twiz w/ Busybox & Rooted Kernel )

Another thing I have noticed.... The dialer crashes and crashes and crashes and then causes the system to crash. I haven't really had this issue when recieving a call, but when making one, it will freeze and crash almost every time.

Something I did, or is everyone else having issues?

I am having a similar problem. When I make a call, I get several things FCing, mainly com.google.process.gapps. But generally things freeze.

Also, proximity sensor works great when I receive a call (i.e. it turns off the screen), but when I make a call, it have to manually lock the screen or it won't go. Not sure if there's a fix for that.

Things seemed slightly better after a factory reset, but still having lots of crashes while making outgoing calls.

Cant seem to find how to mount sd card with 1.6 no twiz when I go to SD card and phone settings it just says umount but I cannot see files when hooked to usb

you had your wifi, gps and share data set to 'on', but did you actually use them (at least once during the 3 days you stated above)?

i notice the above can be set to 'on' without affecting sleep if one does not use them, but once you have used either services (e.g google maps, any gps mapping program or weather programs), the phone wont sleep and the battery will drain. this happens on my behold II.

I use maps from time to time but not for long. I also use the speedview app (gps speedometer/odometer) when I go exercising on my skates to see current speed and total distance travelled. I find that as long as the GPS status icon at the top of the screen turns off I don't have to worry about it draining me after I close any location apps.

well its been fun fellow beholders. ruined my phone trying to replace my broken touch screen today. gonna be a few week before i can afford another one. cant wait to see whats available then. see ya

Weird, mine turns off too but battery still drains, I do not use 3G, do you?

Downloaded the sensor list app and all of them seem to be working. Two of them say compass, one say temperature, magnetic field, then there are two that one of which I assume is the proximity sensor and the other probably the light sensor. The one listed as GP2AP shows a vaule of 0 the 1 when I put my finger where the sensory is. The other one is listed as BMA150. Don't know if this will help anything but I think the sensors are working fine.

*EDIT: Googled GP2AP and it is the proximity sensor and it is working. BMA150=Accelerometer

My wife was having problems with the proximity sensor since the day she got her phone (before I put any BH_MAN roms on there). This was going to be deal breaker (and probably a phone breaker too lol) for her. On the 1.5 twiz rom I could use anycut to get to the setting that would auto-lock screen on a call. The galaxy ports didn't have this setting available anywhere.

I downloaded Screen Suite from the market and that completely solved her problem. Lock 2.0 has been around longer and may be better but I haven't tried it. Without that app, she would have switched back to her Behold I.

I've got another bug, this one is Notification sound. If I set the notification sound to a sound on the sdcard, it wont play when I get a text message. But if I set it to one of the ones that come on the rom, it plays.

vibration is not working yet correct?? if it did bh_man probably mentioned it right?? (i know i know i just wanted to make sure!!)

That was the galaxy 1.6 port that it didn't work on. It's always worked on this ROM.

stupid me... that's right i'm using the 1.5 no twiz right now... so i should know better but thanks for confirming one more question would u recommend me to charge the phone up fully before i do this??

no it is done automatically right after it installs through odin, watch carefully and you will see it happen!

yeah i think i got it i think it's easier now since we are using ODIN files before i did it manually by copying and pasting to the CMD but thanks paul for fast response i'm charging my phone right now so i can install this lovely rom but how is it though?? awesome like i'm expecting to be??

if your coming form 1.5 then yes!!!
BH_MAN will be coming out with an update soon so just play around with the one you are about to install, and don't really get it all set up, because they new one will be on its way!

Hey BH_MAN, I just wanted to let you know that my battery life is awesome now that I only made one change! My phone now sleeps, and last night it was at 78% and when I woke up it was at 71%. Where Before it would lose 50% of battery when I woke up! The only thing I changed, which I had never done before, is disable wireless location!

if you download a app called "reboot now" it makes the process alot faster! one click reboot!

Wanted to say thanks for this, and also it is quite necessary as paul and BH_MAN have pointed out. I let my phone go yesterday and it died halfway through the day. Today, I'm at 85% still after doing reboot after charging. Anyone with battery problems, install this app and do it every time after charging, it is 100% necessary. And then stop posting about battery problems.:D

Hey man no problem, I was getting tired of rebooting maually, so I thought to myself "I wonder if there's an app for that" lol, sure enough there was! Once we get 2.X there is a differ version that boots you into recovery automatically!
