Root (Port) Behold 2 1.6 ( No Twiz w/ Busybox & Rooted Kernel )

Some people act like Bh_man is a samsung dev. and that everyone in the forums are samsung customer service. If you don't take the time to read the sticky's and research the be-jesus out of the rooting/flashing process (which could ultimately break the phone leaving it unusable with a voided warranty) then everyone who has taken the time to learn to do this shouldn't be expected to help.

Search, search, search some more, if you still can't get it start a new thread, don't pollute the already flooded threads with questions that shouldn't need to be asked. If you can't figure out this stuff from all the help provided in the sticky threads already, then run stock twiz and wait for sammy/tmo to give you an official update. ;) end rant.

wait i'm confused was this directed at me? or are you agreeing with me and adding to that line of thinking? cause i totaly agree with that. i was saying i wish i knew why the newer members don't get this.

oh sht...now i'm poluting the thread...i'll just assume you were agreeing.

He was definately agreeing :-P

We used to call it the Toaster Complex with PCs: People expecting computers to do everything just by plugging them into the wall for power... No work or research on the end-user's part. The "problem" is that 99% of the time, you really DO need to know at least some of the "inner workings" to really make the most of your device (Be it a PC, Smart Phone, or even Cable Box w/DVR)

We, the tech community of the last 20 years, really really hated that mentality ;->

(I use the past tense as I no longer work in tech)

well just created a account to thank you for your work i couldn't wait for a update so i read the forums for a bit then decided to install your rom i was nervous at first as i never done this before but after it was installed it really wasn't all that hard to do its much faster than what was on my BH-2

thanks
~steve~

I figure if this is just a thread to repeat questions, I better make sure the #1 question is asked!

I hope the few people who get it, laugh just a bit. Especially the irony of it being in the wrong thread.

first off, let me say that i'm in now way defending repeat questions/posts/etc. HOWEVER, something you need to understand is that people (esp. n00bs) are on here for HELP. if its some great inconvenience for you to help, then dont (or ask the mod to delete the post when you see it). the "we're intellectually superior to you" attitude just isnt cool. not saying you should continue to answer the questions everytime they are asked, but why respond just to tell them that you arent going to answer their question because they have not conducted a search to your satisfaction and thus will not receive your help? (isnt that polluting the thread as well) i've used the search tool many times and its not like its the easiest thing in the world to use as some posts are longer than others and the results only show you the first part of the post and can sometimes give several pages of results (and if you're new to this, it'll make you give a good ole fashioned WTF!), but with a little perseverance and luck, its true that it can be used to find what you're looking for.
bottom line is that, for the most part, people who are new to this stuff find it very intimidating to begin with, which is only exacerbated by the fact that SOME people on here would rather rant than help. if its already been asked & answered, then maybe give them a search term that will help them find what they're looking for, or even a page number and thread if you know, but chastising them just doesnt really serve anyone's interests. lets just relax and play nice in this great sandbox of ours.

thank you for listening

I couldn't have said it better.

We are not intellectually superior to you, we just know how to read and/or search for answers before asking them. I think that if you don't have the time to read the entire OP or search for your answer in the thread, nobody should waste their time on your question. For example, someone asked about the hybrid. Well if you searched for hybrid, you can easily scan the posts and see that it is on hold. So because you thought you were so important that you don't have to search, you wasted the time of many people who had to read your worthless post.

I have never asked that question, but it is funny.

SO DONT ANSWER THEM!!!! there are plenty of other people on here who may wish to do so, or not. either way, it seems that you dont mind reading thru multiple pages of threads to find answers to your questions (assuming your all-knowing mind would actually have any) so what difference does a few extraneous posts make to you? anyway, like i said, help or dont, just please dont chastise people when they ask questions (or as i suggested earlier, ask the mod to delete the post containing the repeat, give a search term suggestion, OR IGNORE IT).

Update: I've officially had the best battery life so far on WarHeads (finally beat R7!) 34 hours of moderate use and it was at 5% remaining. The "moderate" use consisted of:
1hr+ talk
roughly 50 text messages
bluetooth on most of the time
15-20 minutes of gps navigation
20-30 minutes web browsing
30-40 minutes of games
a couple of pictures
a few youtube videos
played a few mp3's

Thanks again BH_MAN!

ok, i have an interesting problem. for some reason, when i charge my phone while off, it will only charge itself to 96%, and will only charge to 100% while turned on. i noticed this and figured that maybe i did not fully charge it before i flashed it last time, so i repeated the process and got it to a "true" 100% (i know this because when i plugged it in, it immediately said battery full, as opposed to before i discovered this when after charging (while off) and it said battery full i'd pull the battery then reinsert, it would begin charging again) i then reflashed (warheads). i now run my battery until it dies completely, then charge while off (still only get to 96%), but when it finally gets to 100%, the "battery left" widget says less and less time left each time i charge. (the first time it said 24hrs, then it went to 22, then to 18, then 16, now its 14)
what have i done wrong? and does anyone have ideas on how to fix this one?

first of all, you should never need to flash anything three times, but that being said, if each flash completed fully you will be fine. the reason why it says that warning is because when flashing those two particular files there IS a chance of bricking your phone, but no such risk exists when flashing the pda only. so what this means is don't flash those two files more then you need to. this is simply to minimize risk of perminately damaging your phone. if you flashed three times already but each flash completed correctly you are fine. the trouble arises when the flash for those files gets corrupted or interupted and you end up with a paper weight.

For the sake of restoring some order on these threads, every post has a number. This should be around #1166. If you feel like helping someone, just quote their message with a post number or page number referencing them to an answer to their question or problem. That's it, one simple line of text or don't answer it at all.

THIS WAY, MAYBE BH_MAN WILL COME BACK ON HERE & CONTINUE WITH THE TAKE 5 ROM & ON TO BIGGER & BETTER THINGS.

BH_MAN was getting a bit cranky at home and he said it was not like him thats why he took some time off. He has been putting up with this crap since his first rom. as far as posting what post number is I dont go there I am not going to look threw all the post when they should do it. I will help as long as it hasnt been asked a ton of times. I read a lot and posted a seperate thread when I was learning.

Thank! I was kind of sweating it, but I'll find out definitively tonight If it's toast when I get home. Still trying to puzzle my way throught the ADB thing, but I'm sure I'll figure it out. Thanks again

Wow, i ask for help and i get chastized i wasnt expecting anything.... im not that much of a noob, just windows 7 64bit and this phone dont get along well, i just used my xp laptop phone drivers installed fine, adb saw the phone and it went smoothly.... im on warheads no issues....

Only thing i notice is the voice dialing broke? is there a fix for it? its not working right..

good to see ya back BH_MAN, the one I've had the best luck with so far has been WarHeads with the TwLauncher.apk push installed. I tried all of them out and it was the only one the wife let me put on her phone after she played with my phone running WH for a couple of days.
on a side note I love how user friendly you have helped make this

well I think you will get all the answers each rom was special. I like twix. Not sure but I would say whichever one is easiest for you or the one you like the best is the one I want:D
