Root ( Port ) Galaxy 1.6 on the Behold 2 Final

Are their any other battery fixes at present time? I've tried every one I can think of, draining, recharging before ODIN and nothing seems to work. Right now I don't even use the Behold II because battery life is so horrid. I was fully charged at 4:30pm yesterday, downloaded 1 app from market and the rest of the time my phone was sleep ... by 6pm my battery was at 62%. I can litteraly just look at my battery widget and watch it drain by the minutes. I even went so far as trying to get a replacement battery from a TMO retail store but unfortunately they were out of them.

Try this:

Once I put the auto brightness, disabled GPS and disabled screen rotation I have seen that I can go from 0415h to 1830h almost everyday without a second charge and I use my phone a lot for Txt, music and web.

Give it a try.

After turning off the GPS (network location) my battery life is now amazing... much better than on the stock twiz! It has been the fix that galaxy users have been doing and hoping that Samsung fixes.
 
I'll try it but for one I never have GPS on unless I'm using Google Nav which is rare and I always have auto brightness enabled.

Screen rotation is the only thing i normally leave enabled.

I have screen rotation on and that hasn't been a problem.
For the GPS make sure you go to Settings>>Security and Location>> and UNcheck Use Wireless Networks and Enable GPS Satellites.

In my case I have the use wireless network enabled and GPS disabled. But I will try your version to see how it goes.

I just had a nasty problem with having Use Wireless Networks disables (while having GPS enabled) I could never have my position found... It would say I was in CA or not show me at all. Once I enabled the UWN its been working fine, but that could be something of my area.

i have just ODIN"d your R6 and i am very very very happy at my phone performance, it is MUCH quicker, Starts up alot faster,

...And of course Google Navigation....hell yeaaaaaaaaaaaaa..


i would like to throw u a small donation for all the man-hours you have put into the behold2 roms........

i too have bugz but i will wait until this weekend goes by and see what you will come up with next,before i list them.
Mainly my SETCPU doesnt want to work, something about su request...but anyway , like i said i will address this after Easter weekend,

Fixed the A2SD Script.. Now at every Reboot it Show's 151mb & I put a safety net in as well.... Last night I found myself with a None Rebooting Phone due to Stale Dalvik-cache & app-private ... Fixed this issue now :D Works 100% at every reboot now!

Meaning once I upload the a2sd Fixed Script into the A2sd How-to, and adjust for either Galaxy Rom or Behold 2 Rom... You should never have to reload your app once setup correctly :D... Should work Perfect for 1.5 or 1.6 :D

You can Un-install the App's on the SD at anytime via Application Manager ... Also 100% working Now :D

Back to work.... :(

You can use Overclock Widget in the meantime if your impatient
 
Make Sure USB Debugging is turned on.... Turn off then back on if needed.... If that Fails Reboot the Phone & it should work fine..

Just thought I'd Mention this, But when I flash with Odin... I choose Debug Only in Option's & PDA Format. Hope that Help's... Might be an Issue with Old file's as Well...

Yea, I tried this option with R6 and it constantly boot loops and then turns off. I know I'm running the latest baseband version so I dunno what could prevent it from booting up.

Guess I'll just stick with R5 the normal way for now.
 
i have a problem with my behold 2. it keeps telling me to plug in my cell when it is plugged in and is ready to go. it wont pick up my cell for some reason when i do what u say to do to install it...anyone got any idea how to get it to work? my behold 2 is rooted. it wont pick up the serial in that mode.

So in basic terms your phone is not being recognized by the computer? Try reinstalling the drivers and you can find the BH2 drivers in any of the packs of custom roms here. Possibly make sure USB debugging is on... If its not the driver it may be the usb being faulty in that case you may need a new usb cord.
 
i am trying to extract the samsung drivers so i can continue going back to stock 1.5 but i keep getting a error, whats going on?

First rule of troubleshooting: please detail the exact error your are getting and the procedure you followed that got you there.

I have GPS enabled and use wireless location disabled and battery life has been much improved for me.

Remember GPS mainly works outdoors. I can get a signal in my house on the top floor but the more building there is between you and the sky the less chance you will get a lock. Building materials also come into play.

i don't know, i am trying to use winrar and it still says error, unknown.

i never had a problem extracting files. and i need to go back to 1.5, do i need the drivers?
 
Guys can we please keep this thread clean and reserve only to report bugs and/or ways to deal with bugs until fixes have been made by BH_MAN? I honestly think 21 pages is getting extremely long and we havnt started to break ground on debugging big problems yet (vibration, battery life, a2sd, etc). I cant imagine when BH_MAN releases new revision and everyone comments/report on them + people asking for USB install, which ODIN to use, whats the best rom. Its gonna be like 50 pages before we know it. Please if you have anything in regards to setting up ur BH2, needing drivers, OEM roms, custom roms, problem with odin, cant get this/that set up, anything really..... then create a new thread and we'll more than happy to help. Its not like we will ignore you. Leave this thread for reporting bugs pertaining to the Galaxy 1.6 rom.

Just my .2.

PS. Dont mean to aim this at anyone. Just in general. :D
