Root ( Port ) Galaxy 1.6 on the Behold 2 Final

My 2 cents on the MMS bug (from a stock BH2 user):

I deleted the TwMms.apk since I was using Handcent. And SMS still worked, but no MMS. So I installed Mms.apk (stock android from xda?) via Astro, and MMS started working. So I use Handcent exclusively, but I have to keep Mms.apk installed (with notifications turned off).

lol I was gonna try to go back to my previous post for about removing twmms with galaxy mms. See if that work.

had the same problem just keep holding down all three buttons until you see the download mode screen it takes a little longer for some reason, but still works for me.
 
well wanted to try the old galaxy mms fix, but i can't get root through terminal or adb running r2. i know this has been an issue and has been discussed a lot, but i'm still stumped. :confused:

Did you Turn on USB Debugging? If so, Turn Off, then on again....
Open Terminal / ADB Shell ( I always use Terminal ) and type su..

Root gives you super user access aka SU. Allowing you to do absolutely whatever you want to the phone from what I understand. To gain root you just type su in better terminal emulator of which is an app on your phone.

T-Mobile has gotten better with mms messaging but they still suck. The worst it used to be (like about 2 years ago) was it took 3 days once for someone to get a picture through mms. It took T-Mobiles system 3 days to send it through there network (and also compress it since they do that to). It's still a problem. Pictures I get from other people or vice versa always need a few minutes before they will download and be viewable on the phone.

Wat ya mean? I got it to work. Removed handcent mms. Replace with Galaxy MMS. It still doesnt send pics. Although i can receive incoming pictures. Not sure if its base on galaxy mms or its always been the case. Also galaxy mms FC a lot. :confused:

problem is i can't get root so i can't remove the installed Mms.apk to replace it with anything (i'm running r2). BTW if you can't send them then you did not get it working.

Can you ADB? is so do this
adb shell
cd /system/bin
ls -l

Once you Run the ls -l tell me what Permission's are on sh & su.
Also, tell me if you have a Blue # for Superuser.apk in App's

I get what root does, I dont understand how to get to that terminal emulator. sorry for all the questions, just want my phone to be great!
