Root ( Port ) Galaxy 1.6 on the Behold 2 Final

BH Man has already said mulit times that he can't fix Vibrate, someone else will have to try to fix this. He doesn't use it so it's not on his list of things to fix. I'm in the same boat but it is what it is.....Sorry.

disclaimer: i know i should read the thread first, but honestly, its 30 pgs long and time really is of the essence.

I would really like to "pull" the music player from the R8 build (because its just plain awesome) but need the commands to do so (as close to specific and step by step as possible and i'm not very good, but getting better at the whole adb push/pull thing)

also, i'd like to push/add/install it on the BH_MAN's Android 1.6 Behold 2 Stock (NO Touchwiz) but also need the push/add/install commands as well

paul, thanks for your help, but i dont know how to find the name/location of the music app apk. is there a directory or something similar that will show me the locations/names of apk files?

just use the free version of titanium backup and back up all of your apps. Then when you change roms restore at least the one you want (music player) just search for it through your backups that you made, it will have the same icon so it should be easy to find!

Does rev. 8 take an unusually long time to ODIN? I've been in download mode for about twenty minutes and wondering if I have a problem. ODIN on PC has completed 1/5 and says system download. Phone has finished 1/5, is done writing 372364 bytes and is sitting on OKAY. Not a total noobie, just haven't seen ODIN take this long before..Many thanks!

It doesnt. Takes 30s to 1min. If you dont see any coding after OKAY. Its not working correct. Unplug and try again. Use different USB ports if you have to. Happened to me all the time.

BH_MAN, you ARE the MAN!!! Odin in 6 mins and had a little trouble booting ( had to recover) but after that it was smooth sailing. This ROM is extremely fast and the theme is great. Was using your 1.5 ROM which was also fast.

Now my phone is awesome thanks to you!!!

"If you want to Increase the Speed of this Build... use the Factory Anim.
Thank you microhaxo for editing this. Make sd folder on /sdcard to fix Gallery FC if you get one"

I get force close but I don't understand what this is saying to fix it.. Could anyone please help me? Please and thank you guys

i love the "music" and the "news & weather" apps on this ROM, but would prefer the 1.6 no Twiz ROM. I have installed/purchased root explorer and would like to know how to use that (root explorer) to save the music player and news & weather app to be used on the 1.6 no Twiz ROM when i load that ROM onto my phone. titanium is not sufficient to do this (ive even contacted the developer about it)

Why pay for Root Explorer when you can use ASTRO File Manager for free. Simply nav to /system/app, copy the TuneWiki.apk to the sdcard, odin, then with the Install unknown source option on, use ASTRO to install TuneWiki.

or you can simple use ADB from the Computer

Place TuneWiki.apk in C:\TuneWiki.apk
then do the Following command

adb push C:\TuneWiki.apk /system/app/TuneWiki.apk

After trying 1.6 no Twiz and then this ROM, I think this Galaxy port is the sweeter of the two (for now). It looks great and it's super fast and responsive. Nice job BH_MAN et al., we are lucky to have you.

Okay fellas, I haven't been on in a while and I just searched this thread for my problem, but haven't seen anything mentioned. I just loaded up R8 build today and everything seemed to be going fine. But now i can't get anything to install from the market. It goes through the download process, then right at the end when it starts to install, the Market Force Closes with the message "Application Market (Process com.android.vending) has stopped unexpectedly" It happens from my downloads or trying to download a fresh app from the market. I was trying to update "Maps" over WiFi when it first happened. Market worked fine earlier in the day? Also this is the first time I've tried to download something since reloading some app's with "Titanium Backup". I tried a reboot, but it didn't help. Any suggestions?
