Root ( Port ) Galaxy 1.6 on the Behold 2 Final

I was afraid you might say that..... I just didn't want to reload all my Sh%*&t again!

I was wondering if it might be an issue with "Titaniums" market link feature, this is the first time I've used Titanium?

The dreaded Factory Reset worked "so far!" Back to reloading everything......... DOUBLE-AAARRRGGGGG!!!!

By the way, my battery has been doing great today! It's been right at 12 hours and with my normal usage i'm at 55%. I was lucky to get 12 on a full charge before, usually about 8-10!

I did the same thing. The animations that came with the rom lagged a little and seemed to slow performance down. I adb pushed the framework-res.apk to my phone, rebooted, and it does seem a little faster because of the less complex animations.

False, you must name the file on the local end C:\path\to\TuneWiki.apk

ok dude. i admit, that i am uncharacteristically S-T-U-P-I-D with this damn adb stuff.

i have tried just about everything i can think of to pull this damn twlauncher (from r8) and install it on the 1.6 no Twiz, but for the life of me i cannot get it to work. i'm going the adb route because backing it up using ASTRO (while using R8 ROM) and then trying to install (on 1.6 no twiz) keeps telling me "AdvancedLauncher could not be installed on this phone" any ideas on what thats all about are welcome.

as far as the adb approach is concerned i want to pull the files TO C:\BackupPhoneFiles and would like the command line to do this. also, if not too much trouble, could you give me the command line to push the same file (from the same location) TO the phone so that it will work

The server is haunted Ooooooo

or its BH_MAN doing some housekeeping. You know alot of people just cant get the idea that some threads need to be kept clean of silly stuff.

Yeah that's what I figured. How do you delete your own posts? It lets me 'edit' them but not delete.

Thanks

Well it would be nice to be able to not use Advanced Launcher. It doesn't play well with Better Cut or Any Cut.
So how would we put the stock launcher back or alternatively is there another way around the Better Cut problem.

BH Man, I'm really sorry to hear about your phone man & thought that I would do my part by donating to the cause. I was wondering if by any chance, BEFORE your phone crashed, if you were able to work on R9 any? If not, that's cool... I was kinda looking forward to playing around with it if so! LOL Thanks & good luck with your new phone!

I had the Twix loaded when I killed the Phone.. Was trying to Figure out the Problems with it.. I've not touched it with in the last week, sorry man & thank you :D

can someone post step by steps on how to update the firmware from current 1.5 to 1.6? I am confused about reading these instructions from start. There are too many downloads and don't know where to begin. Thank you for reading and help.

Thank you BH_MAN for changing my new Behold II from mediocre to excellent. T-mobile gave me this phone as a free upgrade and I couldn't pass it up. I knew there were problems, but I also knew I could come here and upgrade if necessary. I ran stock for about 2 weeks, giving the Samsung Build a chance. I got tired of seeing all the bloatware in the apps, the poor wi-fi abilities and general sluggishness and loaded R8. I'm very pleased with the results. If you do manage to get the vibration working it would be perfect... No pressure :D

Thanks again.

You could use the BH2 1.6 no twiz. That got vibration working and also Sammy camera.

I am running R7 and just realized that the integrated Youtube is immediately FCing at launch. Anyone else run into this? Anyone know if it is possible to just reload this app? Does anyone have the .apk for Youtube?

I've gone through this entire forum looking for battery fixes. Does anyone else still have battery problems? I only get about a days worth of battery use out of this thing (and that's with no use).

I've seen the post about using GPS instead of network location, but that does not make sense, I always though GPS used way more battery. Would an app killer help out? If I could get 1.5 to 2 days out of this it would be great.

As always, thanks to everyone who helps.

I just installed R8. The phone is a lot faster than the OEM ROM, but I'm having a few major issues:

1. Vibration has completely stopped working.
2. I can't open the Gallery. I get a process com.android.camera crash and I have to force close the app.
3. Wi-Fi doesn't connect automatically. I have to manually connect each time I wake the phone.
4. I have a massive battery drain problem. I don't have a SIM in the phone and it lasts only about 36 hours on standby.

1. Vibration not working is a known issue with this ROM and most likely will not ever work.
2. Create a directory on your sdcard and name it "SD". This should resolve the FC on the gallery.
3. Wi-Fi is not automatically reconnecting after the phone sleeping is also a known issue. Only resolution is cycle Wi-Fi off and then back on after waking phone. Or selecting "Never Sleep" from the Wi-Fi advanced options. (this will drain your battery even more though).
4. There is a bug where the phone will not sleep after being charged. Solution, reboot phone each time you disconnect your power cable or charge the phone while turned off. Also the use of a good task killer has helped a lot of people.

Hope that helps.
