This is what I did.
1. Backed up SD card with anything I didn't want to lose.
2. Went into recovery mode (Hold down - Vol Down/Send Key/End Key)
3. Toggle Down to Partition SD card
4. Use these settings: Swap size 0, Ext2 size 512
5. After it formats, press back button
6. Select wipe (This will reset your phone)
7. Wait about 10 seconds for it to load & press Menu button.
8. If you did it correctly, it should start rebooting & problems solved.
When flashing the new kernel or any kernel BH Man says you need to do a full reset using the Recovery Mode & not through the phone's menu.

hey guys, i rooted my phone, and it works GREAT thx bh_man! but um how do i update the kernal? i just couldnt figure it out -_- lol help plz? i downloaded that file that came with Galaxy R11 and im just a sitting duck now PLEASE HELP ME

I don't recall you saying not to use, it I just thought that you didn't recommend it. Which is kind of the same thing, but I don't remember you saying forcefully "requiring" not to use it as I will say now that it is required not to use setCPU with BH_MAN's rom because it interferes with BH_MAN's preset scaling and will make the phone very laggy!
Sorry if I missed where you said not to use it, believe me I read every single posts on the sticked threads, and I try to listen the best I can!

BH is a gentle person, so it is always implied, but not required
But to keep with the subject, R11 and the BH_MAN Galaxy update.tar work great, especially with Home++. My phone seems to have lost the ability to sleep though. I started seeing the activity of "Android System" again under battery usage. It used to be mostly "Cell standby" and "Phone idle" ??

Download the updated kernel file, and flash the phone with it using Odin. Put the kernel in the PDA slot, and use the .ops file from the R11 package

also i have xp home edition and i tried to do odin to flash to 11 and when i press start odin it willsay connect phones . when i do have it conected ?any solutions ? also i did the steps to turn off then conect usb then to press down ok then power then wait till it says download whihc it did but it saying to connect phones . please any fix? help i want to do it

I don't run with everything turned on! No wifi, no GPS, no Bluetooth, no Location services or weather widget running all the time. Only turn on as I need them. I do plenty of 3G surfing, texting and calling though. I also have Auto Sync turned on to keep contacts, calendar and gmail synced up. I was at about 12-14 hours before R11. I always do the "Number 1 RULE when Changing Rom's...."

This has just been a good ROM for me so far. Sorry to hear you're having bad luck! What are your settings?

Well, I have done and followed everything you've done as well. When I had R11 and Kernel6, i was getting 12-15 hours of heavy use. My phone slept well and under battery usage, a good percentage was spent on Cell Standby and Phone Idle. I re-ODIN with the latest BH_MAN kernel update (Kernel7)? and the activity "Android System" is back at about 50%. It use to be 97% or more before R11. But with R11 and before the latest kernel, I did not see "Android System" at all. Oh well, its still better than the 8 hours I was getting before R11. My settings--
100% Brightness
GPS on all the time
Data Sync on all the time
Beautiful Widgets
Twitter app
Facebook app
Foursquares app
about 100 minutes per charge of talk time
about 20-30 text per charge
20-30 minutes of Navigation
about 10 check ins on Foursquares.
Moderate use of SkyFire

yes i am . i did that and when im trying to start the flash on odin it will tell me "please connect phones" aghhhh wtf. im soo frustrated . i dont know what to do anynmore

Start ODIN. Plug in your phone. Lower left of ODIN window should show your phone as being "detected". Power phone off, it should say "disconnected. Load the .ops and PDA files for the ROM of your choosing. Press and hold "Volume Down" then the "Center" button of the D_Pad then finally "END" button and keep holding until the screen on your phone say "Download Mode". Let go of the buttons. ODIN should say "detected". Click "START". Wait for ODIN to say "PASS" then you can safely unplug your phone. At this point, your phone should be flashed.

In the beginning, I had my phone setup with "PC Studio Mode" on, and "USB debugging" checked. Then turn your phone off.
Make sure the driver is installed properly first before you do any flashing. The link i gave you should help. The Samsung driver is "key" to a successful ODIN.
Try different USB ports as well and make sure you're using the USB cable that came with your phone.
