Portable Device VS Removable Device

I really dislike that the SIII shows up on a PC as a portable device and not a removable device.

It's slower to populate files, doesn't show thumbnails, and there's not "safe to remove" option so you just have to yank the cable.

Is there any way of making it show up as a removable device?

Same for me, file transfers seem slower than normal.
