portable hard drive usb connector type ?

Ok - I've searched this forum and am not sure what the result is - a Seagate portable 1TB drive does or does not work with my Samsung 10.1 ? I've seen both yes and no.

Is there a ready made USB adapter ? Can anyone advise ?

In principle it should but there may be an issue with power drain unless you have an external power supply for the Seagate drive.

You will need an OTG cable. I dare say Samsung sells a grossly over-priced OTG cable but I have bought a couple of different ones on eBay and they both worked. This is an example of what you need http://www.amazon.co.uk/Micro-Samsung-Galaxy-Edition-Tablet/dp/B00G2BNBT8.

You will also need a USB cable from the drive itself but you almost certainly have one of those already.

If you don't have an external power supply for the drive, the Note may not supply enough power to keep the drive spinning. The easiest way to find out is to get an OTG cable and try it.

Thank you lotus49 - makes sense. I'll go ahead and try it cause the cable does not cost all that much.
