Help Portable hotspot woes

Leyaena

Lurker
Since getting my new HTC One V yesterday, I noticed a very strange thing happening when trying to connect a laptop through the portable hotspot. Every time I tried to connect, my phone shut down and rebooting, letting me know there was an unexpected restart, only to crash again when I try to reconnect the laptop.

Here's the kicker, though, it only happens when I try to connect my Acer Eee-pc, when I try to connect my Asus N53J, it works just fine (in fact, I'm typing this message while being connected through my phone right now). They're both running W7, with the exact same settings as far as I know...

So what do you guys think, should I return it to the store and ask for a replacement? or is this a known bug/some wrong hidden setting?

Leyaena, welcome to Android Forums :hello:

That is one strange problem. Have you tried seeing if a software update is available yet? There was one for mine the day I bout it and it solved a couple issues.

Thanks :)

Yes, after encountering the problem, that was the first thing I checked, and but unfortunately that did not solve the issue...I'm thinking I might just return it to the store and get a replacement today. Thanks for the help though :)
