Help Porting WiFi info?

[RBEmerson]

I'm moving from an HTC Droid Incredible 2 (DINC2) to a VZW Razr Maxx. I want to bring along all of the WiFi contact info accumulated in various airports, etc. Can this be done, and if so, how?

It seems to me that list of WiFi resources is in a file somewhere. I suspect that finding the information may require rooting, to get the file, and the passwords are (I hope!) encrypted. OTOH, this should be an Android (that is, OS level) file and not an HTC file. Or...???

If you allow Google Backup to work it will port that for you.

There is also an app for rooted devices called wireless passwords.

Yeah, Google automatically syncs wifi info when you change phones if you allowed it to back up your data with Google

Gotit - great thanks!

By the way, no TiB has an option to save your WiFi APs to a file and you can import it on another device using TiB.

I'm confused - how's that again? Also, what about rooting?
