Possible Ram problem? (HELP!)

I've had my S3 for just over a week now after saying goodbye to my S2 and I've got to say it's a fantastic phone but i have fount my RAM on the task manager to be always in the 600+MB mark and the S3 shows a limit of 780MB meaning i'm always running the device on near max  I always end active applications and clear RAM but this still keeps the s3 in the 600 mark. The only way i can get the phone to get below 600MB is by restarting it and it stays at a calm 400/500MB and runs fast again. Anybody else noticed this? maybe a bug? Just to clarify i don't have any active widgets on my phone and my email only updates should i click the app.

Thanks.

You shouldn't be trying to clear ram. The phone opens up more ram as it needs it. Just because an app is taking up ram doesn't mean it's running in the background. You are actually making your device work harder by using the task manager

I'm interested to know the answer to this in more detail too. I was using "Jeannie" the other day and got a message "Low Memory". The RAM was over 600 but yesterday it was 400+ with no different Apps running.
