Root Possible root method?

Ya know, I wouldn't mind trying it if there was a way to make a nandroid (or something like it) without a custom recovery. I just don't wanna try this and end up bricking a phone i just got 2 weeks ago.
EDIT: Oh well I'm just gonna try, nothing ventured nothing gained, right? I'll post my findings afterwards.
EDIT2: No go. I ran the bat and followed all the directions and after my phone rebooted I used Root Checker from the play store to check for root access to no avail. Oh and I also saw that this same method was attempted in this thread.

This method is being spread all over. Some guys can make some edits and get it working for their devices, but I just don't know enough about exploits to make it work. I will be working on this device some tomorrow and Friday. Hopefully some brave souls can meet me on IRC and risk their fortunes playing recovery roulette...Cheers!
