Possible Sprint Customer

Newbie
I am a current customer US Cellular customer looking to possibly switch to Verizon or Sprint. To start, I am very happy with US Cellular. Great customer service, great coverage, great prices, and I can upgrade phones every 18 months, and as soon as 10 months with belief points for being a loyal customer. Which leads to my dislike, the phone selection isn't the greatest. USCC seems to get great phones at least 6 months after other carriers, and only has a select premium android phones. I have a couple questions for either provider:

1. How often can I upgrade my phone?
2. How is their coverage? (I live in central Illinois so any close feedback would be great)
3. How is their customer service?
4. Any other thoughts or comments?

I am not set on switching, just looking at other possibilities and comparing. Thankyou!

1) Normally, upgrade eligibility begins 20 months into your contract. However, promotions such as the one just recently introduced, may pop up on occasion.

2)Coverage is the biggest variable w/SPRINT.Hopefully,someone in your locale, can give some insight for your location. For a starting point,go to SPRINT'S website & check the coverage map, using your exact address & zip code.

3) I've only been w/SPRINT since OCTOBER.In my short time here,I haven't had any issues that required customer service, other than visiting a local store to get my employer discount started. All associates @ the locations that I've visited come across as well-trained & educated on the services & products offered.
I'd give the service 4.5 out of 5 stars, 1/2 star deduction for none of the locations having any knowledge of availability of the LAPDOCK 100,which was on the SPRINT website for a month prior.

4) If value for service is high on the list,I'd go w/SPRINT,but,I wouldn't get a WIMAX phone, wait for an LTE equipped one.How long SPRINT is going to continue offering unlimited data, especially after 4G LTE rolls out,is up for speculation.

That factored in my decision to choose SPRINT over the other major carriers, hoping all here will be grandfathered in,in the event that SPRINT maaaaay one day abandon unlimited data for a tiered-data set-up.

1. See Kolio's answer.

2. See Kolio's answer.

3. I've been with Sprint for almost 13 years and have seen them at their best and worst. To be honest, I have never had a major problem with their support that I could not get resolved, either in person, over the phone, or web chat. That's not to say I have not had problems, only that I've always managed to get them solved to my satisfaction.

4. If you can wait until summer to switch, I would do so. That is when Sprint will be rolling out LTE service. If you need LTE service now, Verizon may be a better bet for you but expect to pay through the nose for a comparable plan to what you can find on Sprint.

In terms of coverage I recently was in central Illinois two months ago (visiting several Abe Lincoln sites. I'm a civil war buff) and had no coverage issues. I did a quick look at a Sprint coverage map as well just now and they pretty much have all of Illinois covered.

I have been with Sprint for years. I was originally with Nextel and made the switch after the merger.

I personally love Sprint. I have heard of and read many comments about problems with Customer Service, I have personally had no problems. Customer Service has always been good to me.

The biggest plus for me is the Unlimited Data plan so I am not worried about how much data I use.

Also, so far, I like the phones that Sprint offers

So I would have to say that I would recommend it.
