possible to push and NOT sync?

is there a way to push gmail to my android phone without syncing it?

we have a common email account for tech support. it is through google apps. i want to push those emails to my phone but still leave them on the server so our outlook clients @ the office can pop the email. if i use the sync on my phone it reads it and nobody can get a copy of it.

well i think... nevermind. did some testing as if i put the recent: tag in front of the email address when i pop, as long as i archive and dont delete on my phone they should still get the email.
