Possibly unformatted sd card

That new Sandisk 64 GB sd card that I just got at Target might be unformatted, according to the Samsung helpline. It was suggested that I remove the card in order to refresh it and then maybe a format option would show. Could this be the case? It claims 1% is already used, with android_secure, Alarms, etc. through Ringtones. However, they all say 0 items except Android (1) and DCIM (2).

I still don't see any format option. Besides, when I checked the sd card I found it had some items under DCIM and Android (data). The only place to move is"here" and then the destination and source are still the same. Please see the screenshots I posted under Sd card for Samsung Galaxy A20S.

I called Samsung back but they couldn't help much. When I took the tray with the sd card out, I did not remove it. The notice about sd card tap here to transfer files has apparently disappeared, but it still shows, with items seemingly on it, under My Files. Would it help to take the card out of the tray and reinsert it? Should I try to download a better file manager? Would an app to move files to sd do any good? I don't know how it filled up that fast, but internal storage is at 31.50 of 32.00.

It's one of those where someone would need to see it perhaps.
I think it's normal where regular empty folders like those are created on the card by the OS so it seems good to go if it was a new card.

(didn't this get water damaged? just curious)

Perhaps you're selecting the wrong storage area to move "from". I don't know, sorry, and I saw your previous screenshots.

I'm pretty sure it was not damaged. I was on the phone with Samsung for more than one hour on the second call. I'm probably at least close to exhausting all the options. Should I just get another ad card?

Have you tried this way?

Seems it's Menu - Edit - check box... move, yeh a little more convoluted than normal.

That SHOULD work. It doesn't because there is no way to move or copy files from internal to sd. The only option, and sometimes it's "tanned out", is to move here and that apparently means trying to copy the file onto itself. I can't download an app to move to sd, even though it's less than 10 mb.

OK I see you already found that Verizon guide page, looking at your previous thread.:p:rolleyes::)

So the card in sd card storage shows the size available and some DCIM (Digital Camera IMages), ringtones and other folders.
Maybe you do have a problem with the card mounting but it's displaying Storage correctly.

You can "Select" by pressing on a photo or file in Internal Storage, but there's no card to move it to?

You can't move some apps like Google ones, and it's pointless moving other apps as it's only partly moved and temporary.

Catch a plane over here and I'll look at it.o_O:p

Do you wanna try that SanDisk Memory Zone app again on this one? You can't download a Move to sd card app from the Play store app on the phone? I don't know if they are any good.

Dump some screenshots of what you said above that you are seeing if you want. I'd gotta have it in my hand, and i don't own a Samsung. I also don't know if you missed what the steps outlined were saying in sequence. What Samsung One UI version do you have under about phone. One UI 2.0 ?

I have almost forgotten about the phone sims card, I previously purchase because of a techincal issue on my motora though. Still I would take Madasa's advice.

The One UI Core version is indeed 2.0. The Android version is 10. I suppose that's Pie or something that way. They keep trying to shove an "upgrade" at me and I keep dodging it because I simply don't want it. This is supposed to be MY phone, especially considering how much it cost. I'm still hoping to root it some day, but when there are all these alligators it's hard to remember that the objective was to drain the swamp...

I have tried to get such an app, with no success. As for X-plore, Google lies that it's installed, but I can't find it in the apps non drawer. What happened to that? This way it looks more Apple y. I did find it under downloads but the only options are cancel and install. It won't install. What the heck is going on here?

I found some "downloads" listed in internal storage. I am posting a screenshot. Note that some claim 0 bytes. This is also true of the Sandisk Memory Zone app. Why would they be "downloaded" if they actually aren't? How do I get them for real?
