Post here if you received the OTA update.

Heys guys I spoke to tmobile and several different android representatives within the last few days. It seems that every person I talk to give me different answers. The last guy said the newer behold 2's take longer to recieve the update. I purchased mine early feb 2010 and have gotten no update. I live in NJ, anyone get that update on the east coast? My imem number is correct and he said i should get the update this week. If I dont get it, tmobile will replace my phone with a new one that he said would certaintly get the update and he told me they would call me on the 5th to check the status of what happened.

dont worry you will recieve the update. i have a new behold also which i won free rom samsungs contest. and i just recieved it yesterday evening. i read somewhere that the updates were released late feb. (correct me if i'm wrong). you might get it today idk but it shouldnt be long

So I haven't gotten it yet, but I called the support line and they said my phone couldn't download the update if the battery was less then 50%... which is pretty easy to get get below in this phone. They recommended me leaving it plugged in (which me working from home doesn't bother me too much) until it receives it.

If that helps anyone else :)

Based off of other posts on this forum, that would seem to be incorrect. As reported by many users - you can not install it if your battery is low, but it would appear to download just fine.

lol either way, I'm leaving it plugged in just in case. I've had my phone freeze in an endless vibrate 4 time in the last 5 days... I'll do anything to increase my chances of a fix :)

It just occured to me that maybe you need to register with Samsung? Speaking of IMEI, I remember having to provide it was when I registered with Samgsung in part of their free bluetooth promotion. Just a suggestion...

I received a device management notification saying new update was available about 15 minutes ago. I couldn't install it yet because my battery was low, and have postponed installation for three hours while the phone charges up. I purchased my phone from T-Mobile store Jan. 15 and registered it with Samsung. My SD card was dis- and re-mounted on its own a couple of times in the past week, so I'm hoping that once this update installs that issue will be solved. Would someone tell me if they know whether the mount/dismount is an issue which necessitates replacing my phone, or if it's related to the new update (which will remedy the situation)? Thanks.

well this is my first time to the forum after looming behind my computer screen for many months
i bought my behold 2 off craigslist 2 days after it came out for $150 score
i love it but i desperately need a update
i dont know if other people have this problem but the only bug i have faced is when i plug in headphones and up pops up the music player and starts to play
i pause it and it un-pauses its self i can close the app but it comes back from the dead over and over
but once i take the headphones out it just goes away idk its damn annoying though
i am a android addict and i need "my" FIX
but i will wait it out and it should come eventually
bitching and moaning wont do anything to help
ive given up on rooting my phone (vindows vista is a piece of sh**)
i cant get adb to work no matter how hard i tried and believe me i have
oh i live in tacoma 98422 and no ota

how just randomly or did you do something to get it

I just received it on its own! I noticed a few other good features, They acctually have the network location with the gps on/off switch as well now too. A few other tweaks such as the setting for the beholds stock keyboard is all different.

Hey this is my first post here.. anyway I got the update around 4:30 hawaii time. havent really noticed a difference but there is that waldo app now. hope you all get it.

Build Number- 79XXCSDCBALUM6375

hope this helps

yeah idk what the hell is up with tmo i just am annoyied that i am unable to use the headphones without the repetition of the un dead music player
but thanks anyway

also, we were just looking through the download tab in the market app, and wheres waldo, midnight bowling, and evernote are not listed in there, so they updated her phone with some crappy games to take up precious space that cant be taken off. and we just looked at the manage apps tab in the general settings so theyre on there for good. very disappointing, TMO

I just got the update and I think I may have forced it going threw this thread( http://androidforums.com/samsung-behold-2/50366-ota-firmware-uris-found-work-still-needed-2.html ) I saw that the file was hosted and then downloaded it then used anycut from the market to open the device management and clicked start dm then I noticed the red and blue arrows minutes later I got the notification and boom update plz someone try it and tell me if this works P

I made an anycut shortcut to device management, clicked start dm. 5 minutes later, it's now installing. I didn't need to download anything beforehand.

Didn't work for me yet. Although I've only waited about 10-15 minutes, so who knows. Under "Result" says no received data, either.

Is this update worth it? I've heard people have issues with their screen getting static. Is that a constant thing or just occasionally? Any other issues people have or is it a pretty good update?

Okay I just got off the phone with tech support I explained that I have done everything to my phone possible short of a master reset and tech decided to do a warranty exchange on my phone. If you have not received the update yet and you have updated your IMEI and have given it 2 days to provision then i would definitely advise you to call tech and see what they can do for you. I also would try to do a master reset on the phone. I don't know what difference it would make but it doesn't hurt to try just make sure you back up everything before you do. Even though I am getting an exchange i'm still doing the master reset anyways to see if it makes a difference. So far after the reset nothing has happened but I will wait 12 hours for provisioning to make sure. Just thought I would share that with you maybe it will help. Also make sure you talk to android/pda tech and not regular tech..........trust me you wil get better results with them! Also to mention I am a gen care rep at t-mobile and if you guys got any questions that I can answer w/o loosing my job I will definitely answer them for you! Anything I can do to help just let me know.

after the update i noticed the static thing, so I decided to do a master reset and it fixed it, other wise update seems to fix the crashes, and has more advantages than disadvantages!

Okay so about 10 or 15 minutes after the master reset the red and blue arrows showed up for about 2 minutes and then disappeared with no update!!! At least it's more progress than I've gotten in the past 2 weeks!!

got the update a few moments ago: How To Tell If You've Gotten The Update
oh okay cool I haven't gotten those arrows yet to the left. when you say you had it plugged in was it to the charger or the computer?
