Help Post hottest temp on your razr

Lurker
so i know there are a lot of threads with razrs getting too hot. But what is really hot? I think mine is defective but i want to see if its normal before I go back to Verizon.

My razr gets hot when im on it for more than 15 minutes using apps and browsing. i downloaded the battery app with the temp indicator on it and i consistantly get 102-108 when i used as described. I also feel like the battery drains faster when it gets this hot. I set my screen brightness at 20% so i know its not that.

Post your temp, screen brightness setting and minutes used to get your temp. posted.
thanks all.

I've used 5GB's of data in 4 days (new phone, LOL)...screen is at 75%...and the phone has never felt even the slightest bit warm.

I used 12 GB in the first 36 hours I had the phone (had to sync my spotify library multiple times. fortunately I have unlimited data).

I had my phone go up to about 104~105 and it is noticeably warm. Its not hot where it would burn me but it does get really warm.

I have had mine at 109 while listening to Pandora, texting and checking Facebook with room temperature of 72 degrees. Had Pandora playing the whole time while doing the others and I would say if you were outside on a hot sunny day doing these things it would get real warm and this is probably normal for a phone. Plus it does have the dual core processsor which probably generates more heat.

so I guess its normal? My temp is at 115 as I type this message. All I have been doing I'd surfing craigslist .

I do not think that is normal. That seems high for just doing some web browsing. Have you rebooted the phone? Checked your usage stats to see if there's something running in the background you are unaware of?

Whenever I use it for longer than 15 minutes at a time, the screen will almost burn you, and the battery temp gets over 50c at this time. I usually stop using it when it gets this high as the battery life obviously plummets.

Not seen my RAZR above 100, but forgot my Droid X in the car the other day and got it after a wake up alarm was sounding for over an hour (I work nights) at about 3 PM and it was 145 degrees. I think the outside temp was 97 that day.

good to find this thread. i was at a show yesterday, about 30 minutes before it starts, i see ics is here! of course, i go for the download. show starts, download is at 90%. i don't dare turn off my phone, hope that is silent. at intermission, i do the install. hard to concentrate on show as i want to see ics. phone is burning a hole thru my pocket. don't know if this is normal, have never felt it this hot. it was 42 deg C.

Lowest has been about 75* and highest recorded today was about 105*. Highest was 108* the other night.

Yes the image is temperature. Had to crop it so could post.

This one gets to 109°f. My last one i sent back for heat issues got to 115. Not a big difference but it got hotter quicker.

My RAZR MAXX went into emergency mode. Two Sundays ago while out to lunch I got the push for ICS (I'm in the MFN) and the restaurant had crappy signal. So, like a moron, I went and put it in my hot truck. I placed my phone out of the direct sunlight but it was still too hot. When I came back from eating and looked at my phone it said "Emergency Cool Down Mode" or something like that and it had a bar that went from blue to red. I turned on my AC and let it sit while I drove home. By the time I got home, My phone was back to normal and I had ICS :) I do not know how hot it had to get to go into ECM but it was scary.

The hottest I have seen my phone was 127 (last week). Granted, this was while driving with the phone in the car dock (direct sun) and the outside temp in the 90s, navigation running, and Pandora streaming. I was waiting for it to shut down, but the thing just kept on truckin.

Lowest I have seen was around 75, but on average it's between 82 - 95.
