Root Post-root issues

I rooted my precedent recently and have had some issues. I had to uninstall all of my market updates to be able to download any apps. I constantly get a notification that says "google talk authentication failed". and none of my apps send push notifications and I really don't know what is different about my phone after the root. what exactly are ROMs? Is it in my best interest to install a ROM. and how do I use titanium backup? what does it do?

I'm having a similar problem with "Google Talk Authentication Failed" notifications. I've made sure my Gmail account is set up for Talk, and that didn't work. Then I uninstalled Google Talk, and I'm still getting the notifications. Hopefully someone will help us out, reiemelyk! :)

Try this:

Go to Settings > Applications > Manage Applications and scroll down to Market and clear data. Then scroll down to Google Services Framework and clear data.
Reboot your phone, wait about 10 minutes then try the market again.
