Yup, you can only go so cheap. But it's flippin' tiny! How is there enough space for all the '0's and '1's in there? :D

Well lets see.
Birthday for my wife, a wonderful trip to her home town (OKC) for the weekend next May so that we can go to Frontier City, and visit some other childhood haunts. (30th bday so she feels "old) This is my attempt to bring back her childhood.
Then 6th anniversary gift, Amethyst

And finally Christmas (which we have agreed to not make a big deal about.)

She's been wanting to go back for a couple years (to Frontier City) and for one reason or another it just has not worked out. Plus she loves Bricktown, and Arcadia Lake and a few places in Edmond (she's actually from there). It should be fun. Maybe we do the zoo too!

I had family that lived there so a visit was a real treat. I am talking late fifties / early sixties. I may have been to Arcadia Lake... I recall going to a local lake and renting a speed boat. It was way exciting to a kid that had only traveled across water on a home built raft. :D Bricktown was likely functional warehouses at the time lol. I don't remember much about the zoo but it seemed incredible to me at the time. I did manage to take the Mrs. to see OKC in the early seventies. We did both zoo and Frontier City. Both seemed smallish compared to other zoos and amusement parks we had been to but still enjoyable. I do hope you guys have fun and the return visit is definitely a noble gesture on your part.

Oh well, the batteries will run out at some point :)
Having just moved beyond the blinking, siren toy stage with my son I can assure you there are two type of batteries. The ones that go into toys that engage the child and keep them silent die in about 10-15 minutes. The ones that go into loud, obnoxious, ear piercing, banshee wailing toys will last at least two years beyond the time the child enters middle school.

The obnoxious sounds and lights always annoyed me but it was the weeble wobble and leggo things that you step on in the night that always brought me to my knees.

My sister, four years my senior, had two fine boys before I got married. Oh the fun of a single uncle gifting those boys I had. I gave them everything a boy would want and a parent would never buy. The noise makers and the space ships that fired missiles and the rubber band guns... whatever they wanted.
.... and then I was a parent.

Got sent to a health clinic in a depressed area (mandatory service as part of training), and there's no nearby place to buy food, so had to bring my own. Bought this little lunch box for an equivalent of $2 at the local 'Japan Home Center'/Daiso. Couldn't find one with spoons/forks. The other stores sell lunch boxes at $10, without utensils. The little chopsticks are a life save when I forgot utensils. Good thing I learned to use those things for more than noodles. Lol.

Bought an LG stylo 2v, needed the Verizon version since I'm on total wireless. Have to say so far this is a great phone. I like the lg ui to begin with love a stylus. The battery life is just crazy good. Over 17 hours yesterday with 7hrs of sot, and that was at 17%!
This version has the media tek processor, no lag so far.

My brother paid back some of what he owed me, so I had an extra $20. Since I lost the headset that came with my Note 2 (yup still working after 3 years of use), and my brother is using the ones from the S7 because I like in-ear units better, I bought these:

Surprisingly great sound, better than expected from the price point. The patented ZoundLasso thing on the end of the jack is cool too!

Bought it at a brick and mortar store, but you can check it out here:

I do miss my Note 2 headset though, but for different reasons. It was in the case that came with the S7E headset and I had the OTG adapter in there too. I bought a third party replacement but it's not as sleek as the OG Samsung adapter. [emoji22]

I had yesterday, what I can only describe as the most perfect shopping experience ever. Just to explain, I have a very low tolerance for window shopping, and normally want to just get in, buy what I need, and get out of there.
My objective was to buy a Christmas gift for my Wife. Not an easy task at the best of times, as I'm always struggling for ideas. So I anticipated a tough mission.
The town centre was unexpectedly quiet, and I fairly quickly found a nice item of jewellery, which as a bonus was a sale item, saving me £134.
