Second hand bicycle.

Well as was stated in my "best camera" post, the little lady and I went to OKC for the weekend, so I got hotel room for 2 nights (got one night free as they had advertised a Jacuzzi but had since removed it) meals, drinks (also in the best camera thread) BUT .... THE BEST PART? They have a Vans store in OKC, and they had a couple styles that were sold out up here ... Including ... Style 112 Pros in Gunmetal/Black. mmmmmm. Addicted? yea.

Best part? I got a $25 off coupon for Vans that can be used between the 11th of Aug. and the end of September. (I got one night of our stay at the hotel free, so ... that paid for the shoes! YAY)

This is the neatest it will ever be ...

There are several recent purchases here. First is the floor. This was originally a carpeted room, but we were able to get a great deal on some oak flooring ($8/sq. ft. installed). Of course the new floor made the old desk look shabby, so there's all new furniture here too. And, to keep the toes warm on those chilly winter mornings when I'm sitting here watching my neighbors schlep off to work, a nice area rug.

Nice setup Luna! But you're right, that level of man-cave tidiness is hard to maintain. We have what is now known as "The Pit", as it has become a dumping ground for old computers, cables, and overflowing bookshelves, also filled with obsolete text books. One day I'll tidy it up.. no wait, who am I kidding? :D

...as it has become a dumping ground...

It will get there very quickly. The worst offender is the Mrs. who makes it a point to tidy up the rest of the house periodically and place every unclaimed piece of paper or wayward tech on my desk. And, in accordance with Mr. Murphy and his vast codicil of rules, laws and edicts, the more involved I am in a project, the greater the pile. This pile then gets re-piled to a corner, box or cabinet for eventual reorganization ... which never seems to happen. ;)

To solve this problem, the great architect of life provided a door that can be closed to conceal this aggregate clutter in my space only and keep the rest of the house spouse-ready.

Haha! Sounds familiar. This must be female trait. Of course if I was ultra efficient, I'd immediately file these pieces of paper in the appropriate folder. Btw I do have a filing cabinet, and as you can imagine, it's completely full, mainly with old irrelevant stuff, and needs tidying up. My life is one constant process of moving piles of clutter from one area to another :)

For some reason I get a great deal of enjoyment thinking about you pulling carpet, replacing it with hardwood, just to get a smaller rug and put over the middle of the hardwood. Something I would do and think it's logical too.

There is a difference between contractor-grade carpet over subflooring vs. a wool carpet on top of quartersawn oak ... and the whole job (including the furniture) cost almost as much as my Tag Heuer Chronograph ... almost. ;)

I wouldn't dare. We can no longer get expensive furnishings, as our dog will chew it to bits, and that includes rugs.
Anyone else have a dog that will literally eat, or try to eat anything?

Yes I got MORE Vans. But I kinda had to, ya know coupon. So I had the $25 off coupon, which was pretty unique I guess. None of the stores here in KC had seen this version. Anyway, went live on the 11th had to be used by the 31st. $25 off a $65 purchase. Well neither store had the pair I wanted in stock and the coupon expressly stated must be in store stock, no holds, no orders.

Both pairs, after buy one get one half off and my $25 off coupon were less than $50. Not bad.

I also invested in a forever lighter, one of the plasma arc lighters. (Woot.com) deal last week, $24 for 2 of them. They arrived yesterday.
