I fully expect Sprint to be almost identical in price if Sprint joins the LTE bandwagon (which I think it will). .
I have to ask, why would it?
If it joins the lte bandwagon it would have to pay verizon, per kilobyte, for the usage. It would loose almost all of its spectrum for wimax and tower space. All the marketing so far would be tossed out. They would be subject to verizons rules on what can and can not be used, down to specific apps....
...They would spend more money just to be allowed to use verizons network, more then it would cost to finish wimax.
Im not sure either way, but, if im not mistaken, Sprint can use their current 4G network to run LTE, WiMax, or even both. I dont think Sprint would be subject to anything in regards to vzw. It would be thier own (along with Clear) network.
RiverOfIce; Minor clarification; per last Clearwire's Annual Report (p.20), Sprint has 56.2% of voting rights via Class A & B shares. Sprint provided Clearwire 100% of it's spectrum for these shares. Clearwire Corp - Investor Relations - News Release
You need to dig a little deeper, but good try. But four little points here. 1.) 100% of the 2.5ghz is 150mhz. 2.) Sprint had to do a few things since it bought nextel. 3.) FCC has logged the spectrum already. 4.) Look who owns the spectrum now. But heck I will not argue with you
About 40mhz of the spectrum is leased and stipulated to be used for wimax, the rest of it belonged to sprint
