Does anybody post to this site, anymore? Will they ever update this machine to Jelly Bean? Will they ever do any upgrades to this Thrive or do we all a 286 of the past? To bad!

Most Thrive users are on thriveforums.org

It won't get JB officially but I'm running Pio's Baked Black Bean and it is awesome.

I hardly ever use my thrive anymore. If it sits in my backpack for more than two to three days without being used its dead when I pick it up.

Looking at getting a Note 10.1 soon.

Root it and flash a JB or ICS rom. Works much better and you'll probably use it more

I should look into rooting. I meant to long ago but never got to it.

I currently run ICS on it, are there any benefits of running an ICS rom when I already have ICS?

The ICS you have was an OTA and caused many issues. You can't root the Thrive if it has ICS already on it.

However, if you go to Thriveforums.org and join and PM dalepl, they can actually "roll" you back to Honeycomb and then, you can do the root process. There is a waiting list so be patient but dale is a great person and does this for free and on his own time. He does it one on one so you get excellent service without paying a dime. We are eternally grateful to the guy. No other forum or developer does what he does.
Dale's got his own ICS rom that strips away all the Toshiba junk/bloat and it runs 100 times better than what Toshiba put out. Also, the JB roms by Pio are just incredible. I probably won't need another tablet unless my wife keeps using mine. I definitely got my money's worth for my Thrive.

I'll have to check that out. Maybe that will get me some more months of use before I feel compelled to upgrade. Would certainly be nice since I'll be buying my wife an iPad this week and my two daughters iPad Minis for their birthdays in August.

Took the plunge and joined, then PM'd him.

As long as this can get me through until the next large Nexus tablet comes out I will be happy. I want to use it but it's just so slow. Doesn't seem like I'm experiencing many of the problems people reported but it's annoying for sure.
