Potential new Hero owner - some quick questions

Hi there,

just registered, some time lurker. I live in the UK and use two networks, three and o2.

I don't actually own a Hero yet but am looking at my various purchase options.

Far and above, the most important thing is the need to be able to unlock. So far I've got 3 options that i'm looking at.

1) sim free / unlocked retail new (

As long as it's not Orange locked - your chances are good.

Anyway, you can unlock it just by calling T-Mobile, but that might cost you

There is plenty of discussion about Orange Heroes being troublesome to unlock, not heard anything about T-mobile.

I would suggest that you should change your thread title to "can you unlock a T-Mobile hero?" to get some more response.

thanks for the replies. It seems good to go with the tmobile one at the moment then. I can't call tmobile as im not a Tmobile customer, so would be looking at other solutions. Anyone else got any experience ?
