Power Amp

On sale right now. With all the hype I finally bought it (my 2nd app purchase, 1st being GrooveIP). I wouldn't pay $5 but at $2 I figure it's worth a try.

Sound is great. I don't really like the UI (compared to what I am use to with Cubed)... but sound is what matters. Widgets are terrible compared to Cubed.

Honestly we're the other way around. I hate the cubed widgets compared to PowerAmp, and I really don't like the cube interface thing. LOL.

LOL... I'm sure if there were 50 widgets, someone would like each one. I just would like to be able to get rid of the unwanted fields if possible (like the xx/xxxx number, and the <<< >>> buttons), The small <<< >>> buttons don't seem to do anything.

You would probably have liked PlayerPro widgets better. Seriously if that player could handle my music's album art I would have really bought that. For some reason it wont recognize my embedded artwork (despite winamp and poweramp having no trouble whatsoever). Its 2x2 and 3x3 widgets are among the best I've seen, and modabble widgets too.

New discovery: Poweramp uses a lot less power than Cubed. I use Power Tutor to check mW usage on various apps. Played a 4 minute song with Power Amp and it averaged 70mW, same song on Cubed averaged 200mW. What's a little odd is Cubed uses the built in "Media Server", whereas Poweramp uses itself (with no power to Media Server). PA looking better!

Guys u cud try NRG player..its also gud..battery usage is a bit more i guess but overall its gud..

PowerAmp, just like all other players has its pros and cons. However PA in my opinion outweighs all the other players when you look at the "total package".
