Power bank issue

Hey all.
First topic here for me. I have a s3 through virgin mobile and recently just bought a power bank (well two since I returned one already). One a radioshack brand another digital energy world. My problem is that both banks I bought are not recognized by the phone when plugged in. I have tested using multiple cords and devices and have established that both banks took charges and were fully charged. That they would charge other devices. Wpuld work with different cords. Any ideas why only a s3 specifically wouldnt work with a power bank? Or is a setting issue? Any known workarounds?

That does indeed sound like an odd issue :hmmmm:

Does the phone charge normally via the computer or the wall charger?

Yep everytime I even tried using that cord with the power bank as well.

Ah, I see.

I would assume your S3 gives no indication of charging? (the led light not lit?) when plugged into the power bank/s.

Now, just throwing this out there, but could it be that the phone is indeed charging, but giving no indication of such? (led light not on).

It does not give any indication. No red charging light and not lightening charging symbol. It is not however charging as in my testing I left it plugged in to the fully charged bank for several hours with nothing. It discharged at the normal rate while plugged in.

Well, I'm not sure then Every time I think of something, you've already tried it

Hopefully someone will stumble across your thread here with another idea.
