Power button problem in jelly bean

I use symphony w35 , runs on jelly bean 4.1.1

only 2 month old , due to water problem , my warranty got sacked .

Now my power button only works when the mobile is turned off. I can only switch on by it.

After turning it on , it doesnt either lock or unlock my screen .
My phone is nearly uselees right now.

If anyone can come up with software / hardware solutions , it will be a great help :)

Hi and welcome to Android Forums!

If your phone was damaged by water and not dried out properly (rice technique is great, but it sounds too late for that), then something has apparently shorted out in the circuitry and fried something. Sounds like it's time for another phone :(

Rice Trick:

For the benefit of those reading: if your device gets wet, do NOT attempt to turn it on or do anything! If the battery is removable, remove it immediately. Place the device in a ziplock bag 1/2 full of uncooked rice for at least 48 hours... or longer. The rice will draw the moisture out of the device. Afterwards, put the device back together (making sure no rice is stuck in it), power it back up and check it but ONLY if it appears to be completely dry: if it's not, back in the rice for another 24-48 hours. Any attempt to operate a wet electronics device will likely damage it beyond repair.

I know that's not what you wanted to hear, but water happens sometimes and it's never a good thing. Sorry :o

It's great to have you here though :)
