Help Power button problem

I am having an issue with my new S3. It seems sometimes I have to press the power button to turn on the display multiple times before it will actually come on. Sometimes the buttons on the botton will just illuminate but the screen will be off. Any ideas? Hardware or software problem?

What happens if you, instead, use the home button to turn the display on? If the problem persists, try to do a factory reset of the phone.

The problem is stick persisting but at less of a rate now.
