Help Power button

For people like me that have been using the iPhone for ever and a day, it is so nice having the button on the main screen to bring the device to life...

On the HTC One X, and others, one has to press the power button at the top of the screen.

Does anyone know of an app that would either allow the volume buttons, or some combination of pressing on the screen to wake the device?

Thanks in advance

This is a huge deal for me as well! I love having a button on the front of the device that wakes the phone up. That's why I loved the myTouch 4G so much while I had it, that little trackpad worked great. :) I've heard about widget locker as well but have never tried it.

...someone in another thread (icebike) brought up a good point. You really wouldn't want another button making the screen come on, that would certainly help kill the battery.

We simply have to get used to pressing the power button at the top of the screen. It is just a learning curve.

I was a former iPhone 3GS user, so I'm glad HTC decided to locate the power button on the top right this time. On the Desire, it was on the top left, which was kind of weird.

But yes, anyways, I'm sure it'd be nice if the home button could wake the phone up, cuz everytime I unlock my phone, I gotta scoot my hand over down to the bottom to unlock it!

I got the Otterbox Communiter case today, and it is not so bad now pressing the power button. The Speck case was TERRIBLE when pressing the power button...

Does the Otterbox add much to the phone?

I'm a big fan of Otterbox, but I don't think their One X cases are available over here yet. :(

(Sorry, I know this is slightly OT).

Well, as you know the One X is rather thin, so yes it does add bulk. But, Otterbox does on all it's devices :)

Albeit, protection is there, and it feels good\solid in hand. I can press the power button with ease, too!

I beg to differ. I tried two of the same case, and even the AT&T rep said, "It is a little tight fitting, isn't it"...
