Help Power cord acting up, not charging

OK, wife and I both have G3's. This weekend I went up to Maine for a couple days, I brought her plug/charger with me to use.

Outlets at the motel we stayed at sucked, but I was using one near the bed. Plugged phone in, got an error message saying "not charging, use the plug that came with the phone", which obviously I was.

Said, the hell with it, didn't need to charge that bad anyway. Fast forward to later that night, get home, plug in (same outlet) starts charging without issue. Did this off an on during my stay there.

Get home yesterday, tell wife the story. Put plug in outlet at home where we've never had an issue before, sure enough, error message again.

Anyone else ever experience this?

I've never experienced that error with the USB cable that came with the phone. However, when I plug my phone into the non-LG cable that's permanently plugged into my PC, I will sometimes (but rarely) get the "not charging" message. Strange.

Blow out the jack with a little liquid air. Amazing what pocket lint and dust will do to a usb connection.
