Root power cycle goes to fast boot, need to fix!

NOV8TR

Lurker
rooted 2.3.6
All good until the OTA the update to ICS. Failed part way thru the install. Restored to factory settings, and tried to "flash" back to 2.3.5 (which I' ve done a few times before). The flash failed about 4 or 5 into the process of 18 files. Now, no mater what I try, when I power cycle it always comes up in fast boot mode. All I can do is hold down the volume keys (while powering up), and select "normal" boot. The same thing happens every time I power cycle. I have tried to " flash" several times, and now it just says " failed flash". Any ideas what I did, and how to fix? I really don't need to be rooted (just did not like AT&T telling me what I could and couldn't do!), and I havn't tried any custom ROMS. Stock would be fine. i just want a stable Atrix2 that all of the sensors work correctly on (the reason I haven't gone the custom ROM route).
Please advise on how to restore
Thanks.

I found this thread with similar symptoms. Please let me know if this helps you reach a solution.

If this DOES work, if you have time, please post a thread with the problem and solution.

Thanks!

Thanks Skearton.
I'm pretty sure I did what those threads suggested, but I down loaded the referenced files and will start from scratch just in case. I'll post my results after this weekend (don't have access to the computer with all the tools needed for the job right now). I sure hope I just missed something simple. I really want my phone back in proper working order!

Well, no luck!
I tried 3 different times. I replaced all the files to convert from 2.3.6 to 2.3.5 flash. I tried fresh downloads of the flash file. I tried locating it in different places on my computer. I even tried flashing the unconverted 2.3.5 Edison flash, and nothing gets me further than the "flash fail" message. Any more ideas?
Thanks

Ok,
Feeling a bit like a moron!
Out of desperation I read every word twice on the first post. I had been using RSD lite to do all of my flashing before, so I ASSumed that is was required for any "flashing". Not the case,,, duhhh! I ran the batch file included with the download and everything worked perfectly! Did the OTA from 2.3.5 to 2.3.6 to ICS (4.0.4). Then rooted the phone again (Titanium backup pro version wants to be rooted to work correctly). I am now 1 happy camper.

I have to say, I really don't like the "look and feel" of ICS, but such is the price of progress.

Thanks Skearton! +1 on the thanks meter for you
