Help Power off and reboot not working

dewwby

HP Touchpad with CM9 and 6-27 nightly build.

Anyone know of an app or widget to software to turn off or reboot the tablet? Kind of like WebOS has in the device info app? Sometimes the thing will not turn off at all while in Cyanogenmod ICS and I have to expend the battery to get it to turn off. Yes I have tried all of the other ways to turn off.

Also anyone else have a problem with facebook app not working? Starts to run then closes and has the force close or report option. I have tried to remove and re-install several times and it just updated too.

Do not have these issues in WebOS.

Time for a wipe (factory reset). Sounds like you've messed it up at some time, maybe by restoring system files from Titanium backup or by not wiping data when a rom upgrade recommended it.

If you can't shut id down with the power button menu, no app will do it for you. As long as the charger is removed, it should shut down.

Does it shut off from the moboot menu?

I only have the problem occasionally. But when I do I have to drain the battery and charge to get it going. No problem in Moboot nor WebOS. Never had to restore or did anything other than install CM9 then the nightly build 6-27-12. All I have done since is install apps.
Never had a ROM upgrade recommend wiping data or else I would have done as recommended.
Just an odd issue.

OK, I was under the impression it was EVERY boot. :D

That was a problem that was fixed awhile back (along with other things), but I thought it was fixed by June.

I'd flash the latest nightly. Microphone and headphone fixes were in early July, so worth updating any way. See if it fixes your problem.

I used to shut down from a shortcut (QuickBoot), then if it started to reboot, I'd shutdown from moboot. Worked every time. If you're going to drain the battery, you're asking for a boatload of trouble. There's people that had to crack open their case to charge the battery to bring it back from the dead... not fun.
