Help Power off long press duration

tonylinde

Lurker
Often when I press the power button to put the phone into standby, it comes up with the menu to power the device off. Is it possible to change the duration of the detected long press on the power button?

I'm wondering this too as I've just noticed my phone had rebooted itself after i put it in my bag and it landed on it's power button!

If all you're doing is putting it in standby, why the need to long press? Just tap the power button and the screen goes off immediately. Or am I missing something?

It happens to me too. I think it's annoying. But learned to live with it.

[OFF TOPIC ] One thing I'm having a hard time "living with" is the absence of the Google search button. I think it's a bit tedious to go out of an app, look for the Google app/widget, search for something and go back in... Sorry to be off topic but just this morning I had to do this several times.

Sometime when you want to tap it, you tap it a tiny bit longer and brought up the shutdown menu. It happens to me too. The hold delay is very very short. Coming from the iPhone, the iPhone power hold delay is extremely long. Just an observation.

You do know you can open google now / search by holding onto the options button? The far left one at the bottom, right next to the menu.

LOL! Thanks!

I guess you know the answer to your question :D

Edit: tried to do it within the Phandroid app. Google now's not launching. Hopefully it's just this app. Thanks again!

Edit #2: I don't think Google now well launch when you're in an app. Oh well. :)
