Help Power off Problem with 4.1.1

My Droid Razor HD just updated to 4.1.1...Since the update the phone insists on going into safe mode reboot every time I try to turn it off...Any helpful suggestions out there. Motorola has been less than helpful.

how does one wipe the cache?

Power the phone off
Press and hold the volume down, volume up and power button until the recovery screen appears.

Use the volume down button to select "Recovery" and then press the volume up to confirm the selection.

The phone will do a little reboot thing, display the dual core logo thing and then an Android next to a triangle with a yellow exclamation point will appear. At this point press the volume up and volume down buttons at the same time.
If you did everything correctly you are now at the Android System Recovery Screen. To clear the cache press the volume down button until you have selected "wipe cache partition". Press the power button to confirm the selection and it will wipe the cache partition.
Once the cache is cleared press the volume up button to select "Reboot System Now" and press the power button to confirm the selection. If the "Reboot System Now" is already selected then just press the power button to confirm the selection and the phone will reboot

Thanks for the cache clearing guidance...It seems to be working but it might take a day or so to see if this really worked...

Unfortunately, it did not work...the phone will turn off properly 3 or four times in a row, then shift back to 'safe mode' and refuse to close...worse, now when I try the power volume shut down it often immediately reboots.

Very annoying....

An update...

After over an hour with Motorola tech support level 2 I discovered two things...Motorola has no idea about anything having to do with their devices music capabilities...zip. zero, nada...

They did, however, discover another problem with the phone and recommended I do a factory reset and ask my carrier for assistance. Verizon was happy to help.

After the reboot all the problems went away with the exception of a tiny amount of static on high resolution audio files.

Unless something changes, I consider the issue fixed...
