Root Power Off While Charging

Is it possible for my Ally to charge when i cut it off.

EX: I cut it off, plug it up, and it doesnt come back on. Itll just charge

Anyway to do that?

Interesting question. I have wondered the same thing. I don't think it could be done but I could be wrong.

I do not think it will as with some smartphones the charging chipset relies mainly on the cpu and software from thos OS to control charge modes and temperatures. As you can note the charge light does not turn on until the OS is fully booted

The Ally must be on while charging. Don't know why, it just does.
My EVO, however, seems to be able to charge while off. Probably just the way the phones were made.

If you turn it off, plug the charger in, it just turns back on.
So the answer is no.

Yes, it's true that all phones are different.

My DROID3 will actually boot itself into a "charging" state, where it's on, but non-functional, thus using no resources.
