Power pack won't charge tablet

"I have an Anker 13000 battery pack charger. It charges my Galaxy S5 fine but when I plug it into my Tab S it will not charge the tablet. I swapped the cable I use with the S5 for the cable I use to charge the tablet from the wall charger, but still no charging?

I then tried various combinations of cables/chargers(wall, Anker and Power Bank 5000). The Anker and Power Bank just does not work with the Tab S; but will with any cable in the S5 and wife's S2 tablet and old HTC Desire.

Any ideas please?"

I put this in the Tab S forum(now slightly amended) but got no replies.

Is there some reason that my 10" Tab S will only charge from a wall charger?

It's not about wall charger or power pack, it's the output current. Your power pack might not be able to supply the necessary current.

If I use a wall chargers, both with with a 1amp output, they charge the S2 tablet. Anker 13000 has a 2amp output yet will not.

Any other reason?

I've used Anker powerbanks (multiple) on my wife's tab with no problem. Is it one with PowerIQ? Most of the newer Anker powerbanks have this. It detects what is connected and matches the output to the device being charged. If it doesn't detect what is there it defaults to 2A output. It could be a protective feature of the Tab to only accept a charge from something pushing the expected amperage. ???

May have found the answer. When removing a cable, connected to theAnker, from the Tab S the tablet slipped and as it did so, just before the cable came out, the Tab S beeped as if power was removed. Put cable back in and wiggled and now several different cables now work; albeit with a wiggle.

This does not answer why previously only wall chargers worked!

I only tried the Anker on this tablet in case I needed it as it has only, so far, been charged by wall socket.

Further information. Bought a 1 meter Anker cable. Works with any wall charger but NOT with older POWER BANK; POWER BANK works with 2 meter cable??

Also tried KIWIBIRD USB connector, its SD card reader works with other devices but not with this tablet.

Still suspect that USB socket is faulty.
