Help power saving mode help

Hi all. Thanks for stopping by. I know this sounds a bit lame but would anybody here mind explaining the power saving mode to me? I used it briefly a while back but disabled it because when it kicked in, it was stopping emails coming through at all.
Also, the top option about turning wifi off when it is not connected to mobile.Ap. didnt make sense to me.
How do you guys use it and how does it work?

i dont really use it coz its not that great.. but wat it does is, u can set a 'low battery level', and when ur battery hits that level, the power saver mode is turned on.. and depending how u've configured it, it'll attempt to save power by turning off stuff on ur device.. i.e. u can configure it to turn off wifi, turn off auto sync (which is probably why u stopped getting emails pushed to ur phone), turn of bluetooth, lower brightness.. and so on.. thes will save power, without u having to manually turn these off

the stupid thing with android power saver is... 1, the icon is always on, even if ur battery is 100%.. and 2, it never turns back on the stuff it turned off.. for example, if it turned off wifi, once u charge ur battery, it wont turn on wifi again.. u gotta manually turn it all on..
