Power/screen lock button not working

I have an AT&T Samsung Galaxy S3 (SGH-I777) and the power/screen lock button has stopped working. When the screen goes dark, I have to either plug it in to the charger to get the screen to come back on or do a battery pull, at which time, the phone will automatically start without pushing the power button to turn it on. How can I fix this?? It's driving me crazy!!!
 
Hi

This wont fix the button, but install "gravity screen". This allow you to turn screen on using the proximity sensor and/or movement. Should solve your problem.
