PowerAmp Shuffle Not Very Random?

Let me start by saying that I love PowerAmp, and think it's by far the best music player on the market - the UI is fantastic, the widgets are great and I love the equalizer. What is not so good however is the shuffle - it just doesn't seem very random. It always seems to play the same songs over and over. Does anyone else find this, and is there anything that can be done about it?

Must admit I've not used the shuffle feature yet but was thinking about it recently as I'm feeling some variety may spice up life a bit

You could email Max (the developer)? He's usually pretty prompt and helpful with replies.

Yes i have noticed this. I even added a lot more music, but i still seem to get the same old songs playing.

I've had it seem very randoms at times, and at other times it will play the same song 3 times during 10 tracks.

Don't know if it's a poor algorithm or just chance.

I always have it on random shuffle (c. 4500 songs on my sd card) and I NEVER hear the same song twice. Even over a several hour car trip. Go look at his forums - I'm sure there's a thread about the shuffle feature.

Just a thought .. but could it be about whether it scans the standard android folders or it's own folders (that you can enable via settings) on the SD card?
