Shhh! Don't look the gift horse in the mouth! *Laughs* You're so honest it's cute!

PowerAmp is the only Android music player app that I could find which is capable of formats our phones are not supposed to support. The big one (for me and many) is FLAC support. Other lossless audio codecs or formats are supported as well such as ALAC (Apple Lossless) and APE (which I haven't tried but FLAC is easier to decode so APE would steal more battery juice I would think).

A shame it doesn't support WMA Lossless but unless you use a ZUNE (or had one) you probably don't have any WMA Lossless files.

i bought mine at the end of january and for the past weeks or so its been hounding me to purchase the full version and i just had to click cancel. thursday i went to use it and when i clicked cancel it closed the app. i guess that means my trial is over

I use Mixzing as an alternative to Poweramp. It's free and it's working fine for me. There doesn't seem to be a trial period like the free poweramp version. I can't compare it poweramp because I've never used poweramp before. I just use the app to update the ID tag and increase the volume on the Ascend. There's an paid version too but I don't know what the difference is.
