Help Pre-cached maps

Hey!

Can anyone advise how to use pre-cached maps when there's no Wi-Fi? I've cached them on GoogleMaps app, but when I turn off WiFi so see if it works, it can't find anything - just keeps searching.

For example, I've cached all of Manhattan, then I turn of Wifi, go to Googlemaps again, search for Manhattan, but nothing comes up - it just keeps searching for ages.

Any thoughts?

Open you maps go into settings> cache settings>pre-cached map areas>select the map you cached.
This for maps 6.3, the latest version already have a 'make map available offline' option.

I've done this, and it just shows two squares that I pre-cached, on a grey background - no map whatsoever.

Yup!!!!
I am facing the same problem

Maybe you didn't cache it properly, it shows up quite good on my phone, have been using this feature for a long time now. I use 2g only so it takes around 5mins to cache a map.
Otherwise just upgrade to the latest version, it has an option to make maps available offline.
I am not using that coz its too large in size and i don't have space to accomodate it. :p
