I'm due an upgrade, currently have a Samsung G4. Which maker adds the least pre-installed apps etc HTC, LG or Samsumg? Who gives the purest Andfoid experiece?

For the purest Android experience you want a Nexus. Recent Motorolas are probably the closest to stock of the big brands.
Samsung are the furthest from pure Android that you will find. I don't have any experience of LG. HTC do make changes, but their skinning is lighter than Samsungs, and better than it was a few years ago.

Well, Nexus phones have the purest android. The difficulty in answering you is that not only do phone makers add things (launchers such as Touchwiz, HTC sense etc) but carriers add their own stuff as well - games etc. Different makes "feel" totally different - I suggest that you go and try them in a store before choosing.
