Help Pre-installed email app keeps freezing.

Hi all.

The email app that came pre- installed on my S3 (white envelope with a red @ icon) freezes every time that I send an email and the only way to close the app is to press the home button as the back button does not work and neither does the menu button when the app stops working (freezes). When I press the home button it goes back to the home screen and sends the email after a few minutes. I get a message saying that the email app is not responding and to click wait or close so I click wait and it eventually sends the email. Why is this happening?

Samsung replied and asked me to do the following:
I would first suggest putting your handset into safe mode; this will mean that only custom software will be running so we can rule out a third party application. Simply restart your handset and when you see the logo hold the volume down button.
