Hi,

Currently been using iPhone 3GS. I think I had enough from Apple, now hunting for an Android device.

I am used to some apps on the iPhone (WM in the past), and wish to know if those apps available on the android:

1. app that will let me see my forthcoming appointments on the locking screen, without the need to go to the calendar app.
2. app that will manage phone profiles (silent, meeting, loud), that will automatically silent the phone while in a meeting.
3. internal recorder which will allows me to record myself, and email that reminder to myself by one click of a button.
4. iPod alike app, that would be able to automatically download Podcasts.

All other isage is simple so each easy.

Many many thanks for the info.

Amir.

1. Two options; Set your calender/appointment widget on your homescreen. When you turn on your device, you'll see the locking screen - drag down, and you have your appointments. Or, if you really don't want the lock screen, install "No Lock" from the market, which takes you straight to your appointments on the home screen when you turn the device on.

2. That is in the stock calender app. Under reminder settings, you can select any ringtone for that meeting.

3. Don't understand what you mean with that one..

4. Think most podcast apps do that, I use Dogcatcher.

An ipod like app would be btunes, I use it and love it. Although I'm not sure if it automatically downloads podcasts, I dont listen to those.

And for calendars on your lock screen, you can download Widgetlocker it allows you to place any widget on your lock screen, pretty cool.

2: timeriffic or locale. Set phone profiles depending on location and/or time
3: many apps let you, 3banana lets you record voice notes i think
