Pre-ordered your S4 yet?

I just pre-ordered my S4 last night. I going from a RZR Max. Bought it off contract as I want to save my unlimited data.

Until a coworker gets a Samsung product and proves to me it will get 4G inside my office I'm going to be on the sidelines for anything from them. But I do like the phone, and I hope you do too!

Well based on my brother's Note 2, and a friend's S3, which both get great 4G reception in my area, I decided to pull the trigger. I'll let you know how it works out.

Yeah, now that I went ahead and pre-ordered, I find myself anxious for the 30th. I wonder if they might ship early like they did with the Nexus?

How much earlier did Verizon release the nexus? Someone in another thread said that they were told the 24th by a cellular cells in Costco (or Sams Club...don't remember which one)

There was no pre order for the Nexus.

I don't directly remember, but I believe it was around a week or so for a few. Internal mixup for a few lucky saps, (I wasn't one of them).

You're talking about the folks that received the phones early due to the last minute delay in the release, where a few managed to get the stores to do a manual sale since it wasn't in the system yet but didn't get the message to hold sales. There were no pre orders and no early shipments with the Nexus on VZW directly to customers :)

Again, I wasn't referring to pre-orders, but I knew it was something along the lines of getting the phone early. I thought maybe it was some sort of mix up. I'll have to take my own advice and go back and read what was posted during that time. :)

Memory is getting foggy. Sucks to be old...

Ok so this may not mean anything and I'm probably being super hopeful and/or reading too much into nothing but i was doing my daily stalking of verizon (hanging my head in shame...lol) and i noticed that when i first pre ordered the S4 my upgrade eligibility was still in tact for a few days up until i checked my verizon account the other day. Now my upgrade has been used obviously but now my account says so....it reflects it and says I've recently purchased a phone that needs to be activated. Also and again this is just my obsessive want of my phone but when i checked about the S4 when you click on the pre order button before there was a red circle with the shipping date of May 30th now thats gone. There is no expected shipping date when you go through the process of pre ordering. I don't know if its just Web page error or wishful thinking on my part. Damn it verizon I'm going nuts lol

There's a little gremlin that is hidden behind the page that is giggling at us all :)

I ordered mine last night. Upgrading from an HTC Thunderbolt purchased when it hit the market over two years ago.

I had been leery of giving up my grandfathered unlimited data. However, going to a "Share Everything" Plan with 6 GB of data, I will be saving about $20/month vs. what I had been paying previously for mine and my wife's phones.

I usually use between 4-5 GB of data, so 6 gives me plenty of room, and I'm saving money. Part of the savings is that with the Share Everything plan with 6 GB you don't have to pay the extra fee for mobile wi-fi hotspot any longer.

Seems like a good deal all around.

I'm actually thinking of calling Verizon and cancelling my order until they come out with a 32gb version like ATT.

Does the S4 not have a card slot?

Yes it does, but that is different than the internal memory. YOur apps are loaded to the internal memory, so if you load a lot of say, applications and games, then you might come up short. The latest android version does not allow you to move applications to your external storage, (unless you root).

So, will that really affect you? Well, I have a RAZR MaXX with 16GB internal, and I seems to be ok, but I have noticed some minor slowness as my internal storage gets close to filled.

Really? My Inc does that. Seems like a strange "feature" to add :smokingsomb:

Well I agree I'll be okay; I'm just pumped for a phone to have expandable storage. A lot of the latest crop don't :(
